Hi, today we had maths interchange and we had to do some problem solving as a group I worked with Meleana, Jared and tyler today for maths.
what was the activity?
The activity was about worms and seagulls and we had to problem solve the question. The question had three parts to it.
what strategy did your group try?
The strategy my group used was times tables because we thought it was the easiest way to solve the question.
what did you find challenging?
I found the questions challenging because there were three parts to the question, so if we had one answer we had to figure out another answer to the other part of the answer.
How well did your group work together were you successful?
I think my group work well but we need to work hard to actually work as a group and communicate as a group.
I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 8 and in 2021 I will be a year 9. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Big News!
Hi, guys welcome back to my blog how is everyone doing today I am doing great my self hope you all are having a great start of your holidays. I have some great news to tell you guys. On Friday 5th of July we had Hui which is assembly and they presented science badges to 15 people and these people are the people who did there Blog postest and they had An Aim, Conclusions, steps and ingredients and more, in their blog posters, and my big news is that I got one I didn't think that I would get one but I did I was so happy for my self and my teacher and some other teachers were also proud of me. When I first did science I set myself a goal to try and get a badge at the end of the term and I achieved it.
I was so excited to see what my parent's reactions would be. When I got home I told them straight away and they were so happy for me they gave me a big hug.
I just wanted to say well done to those who got a badge and those who didn't don't give up try again next time you might get one you never know.
Hope you Guys have a lovely holiday keep safe and fun.

P.E Tapu Ae.
Hi, guys welcome back today we played Tapu Ae In P.E. This was I really fun game to play. We have some questions that we needed to answer.
What is Tapu?
Tapu is A fun game that involves 7 players in each team, a ball,18 cones and 6 tennis balls
What are some of the basic rules?
Rules/steps:
- The guardian is the protects the tupu and tries to stop the other team from knocking the ball off the cones.
- The guardian of the tupu is not allowed to go out of the circle and the attackers are not allowed inside of that circle. The line that leads into the middle part cannot cross that line or else the other team gets the ball
- The people in the middle can not pass the lines that surround them. They can not pass the line that leads inside where the attackers are playing. They can only pass to them
- The ki/ ball has passed every part of the court to be played because of not it gets passed on to the other team. It can’t be thrown over the middle when playing.
- The people on the sides/ the subs need to cheer on their team of not playing. They can kind of be a helper to tell whoever is in charge
- The last rule that is needed to be told is that you need to have fun when playing Tapu Ae. Enjoy the game.
What are some of the te reo Maori Kupu that we talked about?
Papa Takaro (playing fields), Ki (ball), Ki into Te Ao (The middle zone)
Papa Takaro (playing fields), Ki (ball), Ki into Te Ao (The middle zone)
What was your role in your team for these games?
my role in my team was being the water girl and cheering on for the team when I am a sub, and I played Atack And defence on the court.
What did you enjoy the most about the game?
Today Playing Tupa Ae I enjoyed having fun running around and having some time outside playing with some of my friends and teammates.

What were some of the drawbacks that you can think of?
Same of the drawbacks was that my team didn't do really well on finding space and passing around and communicating with each other.

What could your team do better next you play?
My team needs to work on finding space, passing around to each other and communicating with each other.
Teacher comment:
I saw you participating fully in the game, and can see you understand the history of the game.

Colouring competition C.I.P question!
Colouring competition.
Are we going to have just one picture to colour in?
I think people who want to do it should only do one.
Is there age groups?
Yes because if you are a year 7 and you get put with year 13s then you probably won't be as good as them. We would need to make like easy ones for little kids that want to do it and medium ones for juniors and hard ones for seniors.
Can we get prizes donated? Where from?
We can get stuff from home that we don't use but is in good consistency. We can gather money like $5 $10 a buy stuff from the Dollar store.
What dates is the colouring competition going to run?
I think kids should do them in the holidays so then they have time to do it and then when schools start we will vote.
Where are we going to get entries from? HPS? St Bernadette’s School? Gilberthorpe School?
I think we should give out posters and give their office to hand out to the people who want to join.
