Record the types of fingerprints from those in your group.

Name
Fingerprint 1 (Thumb)
Fingerprint 2 (index finger)
Khaylanielooploop
Janel whorl whorl

Conclusion Questions:
The kind of finger print I have is loop and Janel had a whorl.  People do not all ways have the same finger print because everyone is different but some finger prints can be the same. In the group we did not really have any common types of fingerprints because there were only two of us.

Do people always have the same type of fingerprint on their thumb and index finger?
What was the most common type of fingerprint in your group?

Dusting fingerprints:

Lifting fingerprints

Aim: To learn how to lift hidden fingerprints from an object.

1. Lifting and Gathering fingerprints.

Equipment:
  1.     Black paper
  2.     Clear plastic
  3.     Tape
  4.     Baby powder
  5.    Magnifier glass
  6.    Make up broom
Method:
  1.  Get a clear plastic and put your finger on it for at least three seconds.
  2.  After get the make up broom and baby powder and brash it on the clear plastic.
  3.  Then you get the black paper and put it under the white plastic.
  4.  Now you grab the Magnifier glass and look at what your finger print looks like.
  5.  After is to get tap and stick it on you finger prints that it on the plastic and then take it off.
  6. Last step is get the Magnifier glass and look at your finger prints that are on the tap.

Results:

I didn't have any results because we could not see what was on the tape.

Lifted fingerprints

Didn't have pictures

Didn't have a picture
Conclusion Questions:
My results didn't come out right  so I don't really have anything to say about the finger prints. To improve my results next time I would try and be more careful with the materials, But other then that I don't really know what I did wrong. Finger prints are really useful because People can touch anything that is inside or outside and anything that is around them so they are really useful for crimes and other mystery.

How does exercise affect our body and mind?

It helps with your health and well being. It also helps you keep healthy and fit, and It also helps your mind keep sharp, It increases your heart rate, which pumps more oxygen to the brain. You should always at least spend 10 15 minutes doing exercise like running from one side of the backyard to the other, You can do lunges and squats, Going for a bike and many more.

What currently do for exercise:

  • Netball - Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays
  • Bike rides - Tuesdays
  • Going to the park and shoting with the ball - once a week
  • Playing winter sports - Fridays
  • Walk around the house/running - everyday

My weekly physical activity:

  • Play netball
  • Training
  • Piano lessons

30mins/4 days a weeks a on, Monday, Thursday, Wednesday and Friday

My goal is that I will go on bike rides.

So I think I have done a good job on my goal because I have been going with my dad for bike rides. I didn't go on my bike rides for four days but I did do it for three days in one week. On the days I didn't go on a bike ride I did lunges and squats.

Water Filtration Plant

What is filtration?

Filtration is separating solids from liquids by adding a medium through which only the liquid can pass.

Examples are:

  1. Pool filters
  2. Internet filters for examples Snapchat filters
  3. Ceaning filters
  4. Fish tank filters
  5. Kettle filter
  6. Air filters
  7. water filters
  8. oil filters
  9. removes bad things filters.

Materials

1. Fliter paper
2. Funel
3. Sand
4. water bottle
5. Scissors n
6. Rocks
7. Dirty water
8. cups

Process - ( use verbs or doing words in each step )

Step 1

cut the top of the bottle and save it for later because you are going to need to use it.

Step 2

Put the top half upside down in the bottle.

STEP 3

Add layers of sand and rocks but first you need to make a funnel made out of filtter paper and then put it on the top half of the bottle, then You add the sand first in side of the flitter paper that is inside the bottle after you add the rocks on top.

STEP 4

Get 1 cup of dirty water.

STEP 5

Pour dirty water into the funnel and watch the water drop and get clear.

Findings
half of the water filter through this minute in the other minutes the rest of the water came running through.it started to drip a lot and than in 50s in the 3 minutes it started to stop.
when we first poured the water it was clear but then it started to get darker and dirter.

Write a short sentence about the water every 1 minute.
Include 'How much water has filtered through', 'How fast it is dripping through', and 'How clear the water is'.

Minutes                          1. half of the water filter through this minute                        2.  in the other minutes the rest of the water came running through.                   3.  it started to drip a lot and than in 50s in the 3 minutes it started to stop.                   4.                       5.
Drops per minute:
Water colour:
Conclusion:
Our water didn't really turn clear that to what we had expected. It just stayed dirty witch was a shame but it did started to clear a little bite but not really. I thought there was only going to be a few drops but instead there was over 30 drops. It didn't start to stop until 4 minutes later.

What is that white powder?

Hurumanu - What is that white powder?

Today you will be a Forensic Chemist.
A bag of white powder has been confiscated by the airport customs.  You need to find out what white powder it is?

Aim: To see different powders and liquids react in different ways / To find out what the white powder is.

There are  a number of different white powders in our everyday life. Some of these are harmful and others are not. Test the four white powders listed to see which one has been found at the airport.

Here are some examples of everyday kitchen white powders.

Flour, Cornflour, Sugar, Salt, Baking Soda, Baking Powder, Icing Sugar, Tartaric Acid

Citric Acid, Gluten Free flour

You will be given a small amount of 4 white powders on your cardboard. On the black cardboard using a magnifying glass look at the powders.
Look at them under your magnifying glass and record what you see.

These are the four powders we will be using. Upload a photo of each powder.

1.  Cornflour
2.  Baking Soda
3.  Salt
4.  Sugar

Before you add the iodine, vinegar or water you will need to divide each powder into 3.

Materials

1. card board
2.  vinegar
3.  water
4.  iodine
5.  sugar
6.  baking  soda
7. corn flour
8. salt
9. pipette

Steps

1.  fold card board in four.
2. right dawn the four  names of the powder on each sides of the card board.
3.get a little bit of the salt, baking soda, corn flour and the sugar and add one each of the powders on to one of the sides of the card board.
4. once you have add the powders then dived each powder in to three groups.
5.  After you get the vinegar or water or the iodine then add them to 6. one of the powders / so each powder gets each of the liquids.

7. Then you just watch and see what happens.

Findings:

Sugar
Salt
Baking Soda
Cornflour
Appearance

Texture

Smell

Iodine
get darker and absorbsgets litter and absorbshardens hardens
Water

Vinegar

Write a paragraph about your findings.

all of the colour of the powders are white. The sugar had large grains, the salt had medium grains but you could hardly see the grains until you use the magnifier glass, the baking soda had small grains and then the corn flour had really small grains that you could hardly see them. The sugar smelled sweet, the salt smelled like  the sea, the baking soda smelled a little bite lemony and the corn flour smelled like nothing.

Iodine:
when I add the iodine to the sugar it got darker and it looked like the colour of coke it also absorbs in to the sugar, then I add the iodine in'to the salt it stared to melt a little bit.
The third thing I added was the iodine to the the baking soda and it started harden straight away, after I added the iodine in to the cornflour and it also just harden up straight away

Water:
I added the water to the sugar and it melted/absorbed, mixed water with the salt and it absorbed. Mixed the water with the baking soda and all it really did was melt, after I added the water in to the cornflour and it started to absorb.

vinegar:
Added the vinegar with the sugar and all it did was absorb and melt, mixed the vinegar and the salt a it started to absorb. Then I added the baking soda and the vinegar and the one probably had the best reaction to my because it started to bubble up. last but not lest I added the vinegar to the cornflour and it started to harden.

Mystery powder?
At the end we had to find out what the Mystery powder was the three powders it could be was cornflour, baking soda but I don't know what the last powder was. Later after we got the powder we had to divide it into to three, and then we did the same thing as we did with the other powders. At the end the Mystery powder was drum roll please............... baking we new it was baking soda because when we added the vinegar it started to make bubbles.

Drama - Hurumano

Drama - Hurumano

To be honest most of us made the same thing. after we made the food pyramid my teacher Mrs Sheahta explained what a food pyramid was, a food pyramid is a like a pyramid that starts from healthy food to un health food. here is my pyramid I did not finish mine. Also here is what the normal food pyramid.

I didn't want to go up because I was to shay but I went any ways.  Ow and I for got to say that we also sang a healthy eating song for our act. Here is the link of the song we sang. healthy eating song

donuts:
On Friday we got in to a donut shape, so we had some people in the inside of the donut to make the little circle and then the rest were making the outside of the dount. Later after our Drama teacher explained what we had to do the inside circle had to face the person that was standing behind, Then the the people in the outside had to tell the people in the inside there names and also tell them what was there favourite thing they did in the holidays.

After the inside people shared then the outside people had to do the same thing. So we had to do this until we get back to the person that we were with at the start.

Thank you for reading my blog post. Bye.
